AV91 Program

Atomic Vaudeville creates and performs on the traditional unceded land of the Lekwungen people of the Songhees and Kosapsum Nations.

As a theatre company, we understand that merely acknowledging the land can feel performative if we don’t also actively work to dismantle the interlocking systems of capitalism, colonialism, white supremacy and hetero patriarchy. We hope that in our 90+ episodes, we have given you pause to think about how you can start to dismantle these systems within yourself and your community.

In the words of Fanny Lou Hammer, “Nobody is free until everybody is free”.

TONY ADAMS

Tony is a creator and performer.

They will be performing in Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton this summer, so if you know people in those cities, please send them to Tony.

ANDREW BAILEY

Andrew Bailey is a Victoria-based writer, performer, and published author who has worked with Atomic Vaudeville, Blue Bridge Theatre, Phantom Signal, and many others.

Watch out for his new show “Bad Stoic”, coming soon.

LOLA BALL

Lola Ball might want you to believe otherwise, but she’s passionate about two things: Subway sandwiches (specifically the cold cut trio) and The Beastie Boys (ideally the album Paul’s Boutique).

In her free time she’s been known to get into staring contests with most of the animals at the Beacon Hill Petting Zoo, but recently had to file a restraining order against one of the alpacas there (you know the one).

Her favourite colour is turquoise.

JAMAL BROADFOOT

He strips under the name Jamz Spreadworthy, when he is rapping you can call him Jamz.

Clown and Hip-hop are his foundation to understanding stage presence, as well as life.

You can book him at RubyEntertainments.com.

More Jamal here—->@thejunglerumbler

REGAN CHEVALIER-SHORTT

As a kid Regan had a recurring dream character who had a big dumb square head with red hair. This schmo probably showed up in 20 dreams or more but was never met in real life. Does that fact have anything to do with Regan in this show? No, but they thought you should know.

NIC CLARK

…I shouldn’t get into it

MORGAN CRANNY

Morgan likes making people laugh whether it be improv, sketch, standup or even farts.  He’s done many things for money and many things for free.

Morgan has been part of AV since 2006.

When not making people laugh, he makes science in the government.

CLAIRE DIAMANT

Claire is known as Southern Vancouver Island’s Joan Baez. Don’t fact check that. Everything she does, she does for her homosexual cat.

AUGUST ELZINGA

August was born after someone attempted to create diamonds from a 5-minute crafts tutorial. They were so pleased to have been left on AV’s door step as they’ll do anything for a pot of Ben Nye Clown White Lite.

Thleener has been making new art in Victoria since 2005.

@thleenered

ROBIN HARWOOD

Robin is the stinkiest guy in the west. If you are ever walking down the street and smell a bad smell, you just missed him. The great universal truth is hidden in a bad smell.

JACK

Jack is so very grateful to have a platform for their strange intrusive thoughts.

Your discomfort is their joy.

FINN KELLY

Finn is a Victoria based actor and performer best known for his dazzling stage presence, foreboding green glow, wicked scowl, oozing pustules, fetid odour, pallid complexion, wilted demeanor, horrific howling, trail of slime, and entourage of the foul, loathsome, and scorned.

@finklyful

LOUIE LANG NORMAN

He’s not a girl, not yet a woman, but a secret third thing: a part-time female impersonator. Catch him performing around town as drag queen Ket Bush when he’s not being himself. Louie likes horses, making strange performances happen, and loving you.

CHELSEA MACEWAN

When not choreographing for Atomic Vaudeville, she can be found.

And she will be.

@chelseadmacewan

DIMITRIY MATIIENKO

Dimitriy is an improviser, actor and comedian.

He likes to philosophize, tell stories and dance.

He grew up in Ukraine, so his face is naturally emotionless.

AARON NICKOL

A proud Indigenous performer with roots in the Kwak’wala-speaking peoples of the ‘Namgis First Nation, Aaron brings his whole self to the stage. He is an active costume designer, storyteller, producer, and drag artist.

PAUL HENRY OPPERS

Believes in Life after Love. If you threw a party and invited everyone you know, you would see the biggest gift would be from he, and the card attached would say,      Thank you for being a Friend.

         xo PHO

DANNY SARETSKY

When not performing, you can find him eating cereal on his couch, walking to the grocery store, or returning to his apartment with a box of cereal.
