Atomic Vaudeville Best in Show
Now, what could beat a monkey in underpants and legwarmers throwing a handful of confetti while rollerskating and giving us the big thumbs-up? Short answer? Nothing. |

Favourite actor:
Gina McIntosh
It's the second win in a row for the talented Ms. McIntosh! And no real surprise, either, as she continued to make audiences sit up and take notice (and/or laugh hysterically) this year. Whether it was as an addled mother who finds salvation through plastic kitchenware (The Terrible Preservation of Valentine Pilate) or through her continued role as Atomic Vaudeville's hostess-with-the-mostest, McIntosh continued to distinguish herself throughout 2004-also earning a Critic's Choice Award nomination along the way. Brava!

Favourite comedy act:
Atomic Vaudeville
Okay, if you've caught one of Atomic Vaudeville's monthly gut-busters at the Victoria Event Centre since it debuted last July, you'll know what all the fuss is about. And if you haven't, well, original off-the-cuff comedy stylings must not be your thing. The brainchild of the brilliant Britt Small and the jocular Jacob Richmond, each Atomic episode features a different theme and a rotating series of local talent guaranteed to bring a smile to your lips and a laugh to your belly. And hey, episode nine-Sci-Fi-just happens to be on this Wednesday and Thursday nights (see Calendar for details). |
